I'm not a native speaker, but I note that dict.leo.org suggests 'mischen' for 'merge [comp.]'. It's a bit of a simplistic term that might not get the nuance of a 3-way merge, but plain language has its benefits too.

What's the word used for merging onto a freeway? That at least suggests a similar visual image to a DAG-based merge.
