I know it's probably the "plan", but I don't like a name "wvfs".

My brain is almost reaching for the canonical "wtf", similarity-wise.

Likewise, svfs is not something I'd like to have to look at in broader
scope.

Perhaps dropping the "v" might help:

  wvfs -> wfs

  svfs -> sfs

Almost every file system is virtual in some sense, isn't it? So I think
"virtual" is a bit meaningless.

But we might go a bit longer:

  wvfs -> workingfs

  svfs -> storefs

Compare: workingctx in context.py.

If you want to insist on "vfs":

  wvfs -> workingvfs

  svfs -> storevfs
