That might be true, but please do not ever destroy links.

Instead of deleting the page, a sensible thing would be to add a note on top, 
that it is deprecated and add a link to the right entry in the glossary.

Destroying links is one of the great diseases of the web, on par with 
rewriting published history, because it breaks the links on the websites of 
other people.
