Hi Siddharth,
One way to get started with Mercurial development might be to look at
the list of bugs in Bugzilla that have been marked as "easy":
http://bz.selenic.com/buglist.cgi?keywords=easy&resolution=---
Mercurial is mostly written in Python, so that is obviously a useful
skill to have, but it also has a built-in web interface, so
HTML/Javascript/CSS skills may also be applicable. Documentation
contributions are also welcome.
There are various pages on the wiki intended for developers; you'll
want to make sure that you have read
http://mercurial.selenic.com/wiki/ContributingChanges.
I hope that helps,
Simon
