Why is the @ bookmark so far behind?

Thanks for the references. Bookmarks (and hence, the bookmark
workflow) are something that I would love to help out with but I fear
that I need a lot more guidance than I did with just tinkering around
the template code. If anyone is willing to provide some, I would be
more than happy to iron out some of these kinks. For this issue / bug,
it seems Kevin has already volunteered to take care of it.
