          Priority: normal
            Bug ID: 3860
                CC: mercurial-devel at selenic.com
          Assignee: bugzilla at selenic.com
Summary: rebase merging - use short revision number in the
                    names of temp files
          Severity: bug
    Classification: Unclassified
                OS: Windows
          Reporter: techtonik at gmail.com
          Hardware: PC
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
           Version: 2.5
         Component: rebase
           Product: Mercurial

It is very hard to merge stuff without information on both conflicting
revisions, and they are not identified in any way when merge tool interface
pops up. While it looks impossible to provide a comment view, the revision
number still can be added to temp files filenames, which will allow at least
lookup the much needed details in a separate tool.
