issue with transaction code in 2.9-rc?

There may be something wrong in 2.9-rc regarding transaction code

This morning, Matt complained about dispearance of all its obsolescence 
marker.

Tonight I've a massive repository corruption on my mercurial development 
clone.

I've nothing concrete to point to an actual bug but if people useing 2.9 
could run `hg verify ` on they side that would be nice.

I had  disk issue today so it may have nothing to do with 2.9.
