Is it safe to remove temporary commits created by the mutable-history extension?

Hi,

I'd like to know if it is safe to get rid of the the temporary commits
created by the mutable-history extension when you amend a revision.
Perhaps they are necessary for some other or future evolution
operations?

If they are not necessary, is there a reason (other than lack of time
to polish the extension) why they are left in the repository once the
amend operation is complete? They make the evolution graph a little
bit harder to understand and visualize (they basically double the
amount of hidden revisions).

Cheers,

Angel
