Priority: normal
Bug ID: 4716
CC: mercurial-devel at selenic.com
Assignee: bugzilla at selenic.com
Summary: no ipv6 PTR record for bz.selenic.com (?)
Severity: bug
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux
Reporter: av6 at dwimlabs.net
Hardware: PC
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Version: default branch
Component: website
Product: Mercurial
When bugzilla tried to email me using ipv6, email bounced:
NOQUEUE: reject: RCPT from unknown[2600:3c01::f03c:91ff:feae:7be1]: 550 5.7.1
Client host rejected: cannot find your reverse hostname,
[2600:3c01::f03c:91ff:feae:7be1]; from=<mercurial-bugs at selenic.com>
to=<av6 at dwimlabs.net> proto=ESMTP helo=<bz.selenic.com>
Indeed, it doesn't resolve to anything:
$ dig @8.8.8.8 -x 2600:3c01::f03c:91ff:feae:7be1
; <<>> DiG 9.9.5-9-Debian <<>> @8.8.8.8 -x 2600:3c01::f03c:91ff:feae:7be1

Now, the client checks on my end could be too strict, but I still don't think
it's unreasonable to expect a good mailer to have a valid PTR record.
