Just to be explicit, I mean "I like this direction but you should clean
it up and send properly." At the very least, that means not putting this
on the 'stable' branch (new features go on default) as per the
contributor's guidelines:

Also, I *think* rebasing this series onto the default branch will fix
pushgate's confusion.
