mercurial.selenic.com backlinks

It's great that mercurial got now dedicated url under mercurial-scm.org however
i think the deactivation of mercurial.selenic.com is prematurely.

1) for me top google hit for query "mercurial scm" still points to selenic
website, this confused me and i actually thought the site is down

2) there are TONS according to our investigation more than 50,000 of backlinks
all over the internet to pages under selenic subdomain. As someone pointed
already the missing redirect already caused some answers to stack overflow to
be removed because of broken links

3) I quote our Marketing guys: `it can’t be they killed mercurial.selenic.com
without proper redirect. The site has >50,000 backlinks. People kill for less`


Please consider putting a 301 redirect from mercurial.selenic.com/* to
mercurial-scm.org

To prove that i'm attaching some data when we did an analysis of
mercurial.selenic.com
