That has to be the least useful keyword ever, even worse than horrible but
perpetually popular "commands".

Please tell us the topic that's most relevant to an end user reading the release
notes. That's almost certainly "update":

 update: fix bare --clean to work on new branch (issue5003)

Note the addition of "bare".

Your fix also doesn't implement the desired behavior described in the bug
report, which includes preserving the new branch. That probably wants an
explanation somewhere.
