I'm currently in the middle of backporting a large (~300) series of patches to
a stable release of the project I am working on. The changes are most, but not
all, of the changes to a couple of modules (directories) in the project.

It would be very useful for me to look at the changes to those directories
side-by-side (stable bracnh, stable branch with backports, development branch).
I want to be able to look at all the changes I've made in the context of both
branches.
