I just cloned hg-stable and I see that @ is pointing to 1d60ad093792 (4.5 + tag
and sig commit later) even though the latest stable version is 4.5.2, and
therefore I'd expect @ to point to 9639c433be54 or even tip.

durin42 had two possible suggestions in IRC:
