Are there a lot of drive-by contributions in that list? Maybe your
script can exclude patches done by people we can't easily contact,
otherwise it may seem that we don't care about their work (it would
be better to ping them, not abandon their patches).

I don't know how your script would query phab for the list of reviews,
but its web search form allows for something like
"members(hg-reviewers)" in Authors field. That would be a list of
patches with authors that know about this mailing list, likely read
this thread and won't be surprised about the proposed hijack&abandon.
