Any repo with dirs named *.d or *.i will need renaming if you want to
use it directly with 0.6c. However, a 0.6c user can pull over http: or
ssh: from a 0.6b or older client and vice-versa just fine.

This means that a 0.6c client cloning from 0.6b will get a completely
working repo with the properly escaped directory names.
