Thanks; they're all good.  I've split these out and applied them as
individual patches, pullable from http://hg.serpentine.com/mercurial/bos

One minor note: it's rather more work to apply four combined patches
than four individual ones (a few extra minutes of manual diddling with
filterdiff, patch and commit).  Best of all for lazy maintainers
enjoying their Sunday coffee are patches generated by the
contrib/patchbomb script :-)
