Actualy I was not so after the discussion whether mercurial should
be tested in a blackbox or whitebox approach. I agree with you that
both approaches have there benefits. 

I also agree with Thomas earlier statement that the existing test
cases should be further maintained, but I was hoping they can be 
migrated to a more pythonic way. I wrote few lines going down this
path, but nothing I would dare to sent around yet.
