working dir "corruption" with latest windows package?

I upgraded to the latest windows binary package (0.9-a1cfe679192c) as it 
fixes issue 255 (http://www.selenic.com/mercurial/bts/issue255).

However, when I clone a repository under windows, my files get extra LF 
or CR characters at the end of lines. Under windows, depending on the 
editor, files either get some "funny" character at the end of each line, 
either have an extra blank line every line.

Reverting to previous version on cloned repos didn't help.

I'll stick with 0.9 for now, as it works fine for me.
