how to avoid creating backups in emacs

Problem solved, works great.

Normally I apply patches just with patch and I commit by myself. this
time I first tried to import it with 'hg import patch' and I got an
exception because of a wrong date.  Not sure if it's normal, anyway for
now I gone back to the normal patch way ;)

These are the patch contents that I tried to import:

should be trivial to reproduce in not let me know.
