Revision numbers and ChangeSetIDs

Hi,

I cannot imagine any use of ChangeSets out of a single repository, so I
think there's something I don't understand.

Can single changesets be interchanged between (once cloned) repositories,
therefore leaving different revision numbers in them? The methods pull&push
seem to keep the same revision numbers, as they make the repositories equal.

When a Revision Number is not enough for identifying a changeset? A example
would be good...
