Mercurial personal wishes

Hi,

I'm still evaluating both git and hg for my personal stuff,
while still using hg with other people.

So I recently participated to the Mercurial user survey.

I mentioned my top wish was merges across renames which seems to be
everyone's top priority wish and I hope it's be implemented soon.

My second wish, does not seem to have been taken into account(if I
read correclty), is an efficient way to pull changes from plain HTTP
of FTP. As I said previously on this list, the current http method
requires that a dedicated cgi (namely hgweb) be installed on the
server. I personaly have accounts where I can only push through FTP
and export from plain HTTP. The old-http, while kind of filling the
gap, is no really optimal.

git implements an efficent way of exporting data through HTTP, called
packed objects, that is, packing changesets together incrementaly.
I guess many of you know what I'm talking about.
Wouldn't it be nice for hg to offer such a feature?

Thanks.
