CRLF conversion in 0.9?

Indeed it does, which is great.  But I can't find it documented anywhere.
Also I would like to know what I can expect,
e.g. which file types will it recognize as text/binary, does it use some
heuristic like file(1) or does it depend on file name
extensions like Windows, do I need to or am I able at least to configure a
specific file as binary, etc.

And maybe someone knowlegable could update the Wiki page  :-)
