Which is easy to solve.  You can use procmail/formail to filter based on
the message header and *modify* the `Subject:' accodringly, to include
whatever pattern _you_ find reasonable :)

I don't really think forcing a particular [foo] pattern was ever a good
idea, but opinions can vary :)
