Indeed. Unfortunately, most of the folks on crew have limited time to
spend on Windows support and I'm not even in a position to properly
evaluate such patches as I haven't had a Windows machine in about a
decade. If one or two people would like to step forward to do some
more direct maintenance on Windows, that'd be great.

Another thing that would probably help is automated snapshots of the
Windows installer so that it gets more testing between releases.
