Hear hear! The problem is not that (all) windows developers are stupid,
but instead that the windows shell is so incredibly painful.

Well, why not embed a python interpreter in hg... oh. It's compiled into
the executables in the win32 distro, isn't it?

Once you get a real installed base of win32 clients, I think portable
hooks will begin to appear.
