publishing repository through http

Hi,

I've tried to publish repo through http.  Everything works fine if
repo is owned by user who runs http-server (e.g. www-data).  But if I
want to publish repo with different owner I have a strange effect :(

I can clone the repo, but if I try to push changes to it hg reports
that it is not a repository :(  What is wrong here?
