Problems extracting renames

We will do our best to give you more detailed information.  I was hoping
that someone might immediately know what the issue was, because
reproducing this behavior has not been entirely trivial, and we sadly
can't show you our actual repo, for obvious reasons.

But we'll see what we can do.
