Newbie: Mercurial for solo development (Windows)

Hi --

I'm looking for a VCS for handling my own development tasks, which tend
to be occasional scripting and coding hacks. I'm the only one who will
be working on the codebase, but will be working from multiple machines
(PC desktop, laptop, etc). I've been synching between machines using
Unison, and manually making copies of files for backups (utils-0.1.py,
utils-0.2.py, etc). This is starting to get messy and painful and I'm
looking migrate to a real VCS setup.

Is Mercurial a good fit for solo development of this sort, or would this
be overkill? I will be working on Windows most of the time, and have a
fair amount of experience using SVN. The disconnected operation support
for Mercurial seems like a better fit for my various machines. But I
haven't found any tutorials / recipes for this type of configuration,
but can't figure out if that's because its a bad fit, an uncommon usage
scenario, etc. Any pointers or suggestions would be appreciated -- thanks!

Ramon
