Error while retrieving repository

Dear
I have created an hg  repository in my computer and I am also able to
execute the follwing command on localhost

*hg clone cake pala*

where cake is the hg repo and pala being the destination

But when someone tries to execute the following command (remote client on
the local network)

*hg clone 172.16.8.37/cake *

(172.16.8.37 is my internal IP) it says

*abort: There is no Mercurial repository here (.hg not found)!*

what can i do . is it that i have to permit others or what .

Please help me out.
