Well, I authored initial translation of subversion messages to Polish
in 2004 (at times of subversion 1.0). And if I remember correctly, I
used either this file, or some its predecessor - surely I did not need
to read any docs of gettext and the likes, guess anything etc.

I am fairly sure that if you publish similar document (instruction how
to get the startup file for translation, how to test/verify it and
how/where to submit finished translation), then there are fairly good
chances you would get quite a few translations in the frame of a 2-3
months. If not ... the not ;-)

PS Just tried googling for "python l10n". Whole first page quotes
mailing lists messages from different list. Here is the first
