obliterate functionality?

As a side not, it is not always that hard to accomplish this for a
repository. For example, when we are talking about a repository that is
only used inside a company, then things are more under control. It is
relatively easy to tell all your coworkers that one some weekend, the
repository will change its identity and that everybody would have to
re-clone his private repos and sync all his private patches. That said,
I think I can live very well with hg convert.
