clone ups default branch --- bug or feature?

	Similarly, I have repositories with experimental branches that  
someone might clone and work on.  I'd probably prefer to receive  
patches against ``default'' than ``crazy-experiment''

	Or, perhaps I've gone back in time to backport a bugfix against a  
really old version.  Should someone cloning see the really old version  
just because the latest commit happened to be there?

	While it can be confusing, I think default is a good default.
