Some things I don't Understand

Mercurial is great, but there are a few things that I do not understand

1) How else can bookmarks be used other than to just give revisions a
memorable name?
2) I find myself always cloning repositories when I work on a feature.
This is fine, but I'm wondering if I'm missing out on something. Am
I?
3) What's the status on the local branches project? It seems like it
would be useful and probably be the answer to my question #2.
4) Is this currently possible?: "I would really like to have the
ability to split hunks in this [Record] plugin. The problem is, that
if there are multiple adjacent changes that have nothing to do with
each other (like two new functions right next to each other) it is
downright hard to commit them separately short of removing one,
comitting and adding the other one again."

SVN Questions
5) Is anyone using hgsubversion?
6) Is anyone using something other than hgsubversion to successfully
work out of the trunk of their SVN working copy? MQ seems like it
would be a pain to manage on a long lived feature and when working on
an active trunk.

Thanks,
Bradford
