Okay, I was not aware that the thg install did not bring the source code.

Thanks for the additional information. There appears to be nothing 
unusual about the failing changeset, it is not even very big.

Would you mind opening a bug report on http://mercurial.selenic.com/bts/

This will allow us to work on the problem cooperatively - it will need 
someone more familiar with the Windows environment to help me out with this.
