TortoiseHg's repository explorer is slowly migrating in this
direction. In the 1.1 time-frame it should grow the ability to "move"
to different repositories at runtime, disconnecting it from it's
initial cwd. At that point it becomes usable as a 'main application'
that could be launched from the start menu or a desktop icon.
