I don't see why most of this couldn't be converted into wiki. Feel free to extract things. I wanted to be as verbose as possible in the blog post. The instructions in the script were fairly straight forward, though your comment about Merucrial from source vs. the binaries was the real trick that wasn't mentioned in the script.

Yeah, setting things up as a vdir would have worked too - but I took the approach as if I were going to set it up for use in CodePlex (where we host at the root). Doing that made me understand it a bit more, as well as the path_prefix setting :)

Small point: Instead of creating a new web site, creating an application
is enough (and makes sense in some cases), since you get to control the
same things relevant to this (app pool and handlers).
