Recommended approach for converting from CVSNT to Mercurial?

Platform wise, for conversions you want to follow the path most
travelled, and is Linux.  And in general you want the most recent
version of hg you can find (tip of main, or even crew) to use for the
conversion.  After the conversion you can back out to a stable hg
release for day-to-day use.
