Version Control Repository on a “Cloud”–Conclusions

These
the Conclusion I may draw out of this lively discussion:  

C1)
 Precise tech. requisites for a Mercurial-compatible central (web)
Repository are worth to be investigated, and listed.
C1.1)
 I'd be grateful to whomever would suggest me where to look for such
technical details. Thanks.
 
C2)
 “Specialized” hosts declared Mercurial compatible can grant best
efficiency, but probably also other not-specialized web hosts
(“clouds”) could do; that's worth a look too.

C3)
 Widespread compatibility of not-specialized web hosts could boost
the adoption of such powerful VCS collaborative technology. 

 
C4)
 As with most human communities also Mercurial's designers &
users community  can have the tendency of dismissing scornfully any
disturbing question / remarks coming from the outside world.
So
is life.
